Last night I visited the restaurant to take advantage of their fantastic 4 course meal of just £10.95, this consists of poppadoms to share, a starter, main and to finish fresh coffee with cream. The restaurant is spacious, cosy and the lighting is perfect for setting to the mood for a romantic meal. Every table is presented very well with specially folded napkins and polished cutlery. The staff/owners are well dressed (shirt and tie), polite and they find the time to make sure that everything is OK for you.
On arrival we were shown to a table for two which was nicely presented, we were given both menus one for the 4 course deal and one for the main menu. We were asked without delay what drinks we would like and if we would like any poppadoms to start with whilst decide on our choices. The poppadoms came with a selection of three of different sauces and one pot of diced onion mix.
I had decided to start with the Chicken Tikka starter and to follow the Chicken Balti, my partner ordered the starter of Homemade Onion Bhaji and to follow the Chicken Rogan Josh. As an extra treat we decided to order one their homemade Garlic Naan Breads. Whilst waiting for our food there was Indian music playing in the background which added to the atmosphere and made us look forward to our food even more.
The Chicken Tikka starter was vibrant in colour, a bright red marinade sauce which was cooked on a skewer and served with lettuce, cucumber and a lemon wedge. The chicken was fresh and the taste was delicious, it was juicy, mouthwatering and was difficult to share. The homemade Onion Bhaji's were also fresh and tasty, they were crispy on the outside and soft in the middle, they also went very well with the sauces from the poppadoms that we asked to stay on the table.
Not long after we finished the starters the waiter cleared our table and asked if we were ready for our mains, without hesitation we said yes. Considering there were only two of us, a trolley full of food came to our table. Our meals were placed onto hot plates in the centre of the table and we were handed fresh cutlery and warm plates.
The food was absolutely spectacular and the portion sizes did not fail to impress, the Chicken Balti was bursting with freshness and full of aromatic spices. The Garlic Naan was soft and airy and the rice was light and fluffy. The chips we ordered where lightly done and soft in the middle. After we indulged ourselves with Indian food and couldn't fit any more in, we finished the night off with fresh coffee & cream which also came with a chocolate mint. We were also handed individual hot towels for our hands and face and we were offered top ups for our coffee.
The bill came to £29.85 including drinks and extras and overall the visit was great. Needless to say that this Indian restaurant is value for money and I urge you to visit. Let me know of your experiences by commenting at the bottom of this page and feel free to share your pictures.
